[from a typewritten attachment]: “Jane Black and Emily Hunter found much to interest them in the exhibit of German pre-election posters brought back by Sweet Briar’s president, Anne Gary Pannell, who was one of 14 American educators chosen to make a month’s study tour of German educational institutions in September. The posters are on exhibit in the Mary Helen Cochran Library, the gift of a Norfolk benefactor of the college, the late Fergus Reid who was a member of the Sweet Briar Board of Directors for 36 years and served as its president for almost a decade. Jane, a sophomore, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barron F. Black, 7409 Glencove Pl., and Emily, a junior, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hunter, 552 Mowbray Arch. Jane attended Holton Arms in Washington and Emily entered Sweet Briar from the Graham School.”
