Terms of Use

Some materials in the digital photographic collections of Sweet Briar College may be protected by the U.S. Copyright Act and/or by the copyright or neighboring-rights laws of other nations. With regard to copyright, copies of these materials are provided under the authority of Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act which provides for Fair Use (see http://www.copyright.gov/fls/fl102.html).

It is the obligation of the user of the digital photographic collections of Sweet Briar College to determine and satisfy copyright or other use restrictions when publishing or otherwise using or distributing materials found in the digital photographic collections of Sweet Briar College. Transmission or reproduction of protected items beyond that allowed by fair use (as defined by the copyright laws) requires the written permission of the copyright owner. Users of the digital photographic collections of Sweet Briar College must make their own assessments of rights in light of their intended use.
